OUR HISTORY
Continuing the Legacy of 1979
Eastern Pines was started with a dream in 1979. During the first meeting, October 22, 1980, a coffee can holding rusty bolts served as the first collection plate. Twenty five people met that day in a backyard barn at the home of Alton & Frances Jones. Eventually, they began meeting at Eastern Elementary School, and later at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The congregation finally purchased the Eastern Pines Men's Club, to become the permanent location.
The need for more space prompted the EPCC congregation to purchase land at 3380 Portertown Road and on October 8, 2000 their new church was complete. In 2009 the Eastern Pines Church of Christ experienced a 300% increase in physical growth. Again we needed more space to continue our mission. Therefore, we began another journey to increase the size of our facility. Today, our new sanctuary holding up to 500 people is complete and we look forward to outgrowing this building as we continue our journey set before us Love God, Love Others and Serve Both
